FROM THE PASTOR

Richard  Bartel

What a great VBS. It was so fun getting to go with Marty and Eric on their road trip!!! Thanks especially to Marty and Krissy who did so much to make our VBS a success. Thanks also to the area leaders. They did a lot of work to get their areas looking good. All for the glory of God. The carnival was made more exciting by the baptisms we witnessed.

We’re looking forward to a great August. Dallas will be continuing his series called Sitting at the Feet of Jesus. It’s been great. Dallas challenged us to do some fasting. Are you in? Food is not the only thing you can fast. There are many others like TV, Facebook, etc. Let’s get right with God!!

Our WOM will be in charge of giving out school supplies this month. What a great ministry that is! We get the opportunity every year to witness to people who come through.

SMALL GROUPS FOR THE FALL: We will be creating a list of the groups meeting so you will be able to know and become a part hopefully. A lot of good eating and fellowship happens in these groups.

MISSION TRIP: We are going to Las Vegas, New Mexico on August 21-22 to take the gospel to some college students. What an opportunity!!

Things aren’t getting any better for America. The church must be the example for what makes a strong nation. Our churches must be strong so that we can be a witness of how a group of people with God at the center is the right way to go. If the American people don’t have a witness how can we expect them to want God? Right now the U.S. has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the industrialized world. Pornography makes more money here than Google, Yahoo, Amazon, eBay, Microsoft, Apple and Netflix combined. There are more than 774,000 gang members and 27,900 gangs reported active in the U.S. There are 25 million illicit drug users under 12 years of age. It is up to the church to live out the gospel. Let us pray and gather to worship.

See you at Calvary, Bro. Richard

Psalm 150 (NIV)

          1 Praise the LORD.

                Praise God in his sanctuary;

                praise him in his mighty heavens.

2 Praise him for his acts of power;

praise him for his surpassing greatness.

 3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,

       praise him with the harp and lyre,

4 praise him with tambourine and dancing,

praise him with the strings and flute,

 5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,

       praise him with resounding cymbals.

6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
       Praise the LORD.

We are all created to worship and fellowship with the Lord.  Every one of us.  Every day.  And when we join together on Sundays in the sanctuary, we have the opportunity to worship and praise the Lord with other believers.  The entire Psalm 150 instructs us to "Praise the Lord:"  Where? (v. 1)  Why? (v. 2)  How? (v. 3-5)  Who? (v. 6 - Everyone of us that is breathing).

Let's praise the Lord this Sunday, every one of us, in the Lord's Sanctuary, with instruments and voices!

DVD's of our Worship Services are available each week for $5.00.

The proceeds from the DVD sales are used to purchase equipment for the TV Ministry.

 Call the church office if  you want to order a DVD.
